We Believe in Missional Communities

Missional Communities are smaller groups where life, faith, and mission come together. They’re places to build real friendships, grow in love for God, and join others in serving the world around us. While gathering on Sundays is important, we all need additional space where we can be known, share our gifts, and live out God’s mission in everyday ways. Missional Communities are where that happens.

levy park

MONDAYS, 5:45 - 7:30pm

The Levy Park Missional Community gathers weekly for a potluck meal, rotating between Bible study one week and family prayer and fellowship the next. The group is committed to cultivating authentic Christian community through shared meals, prayer, Scripture, and meaningful relationships. The Levy Park MC seeks to serve the surrounding neighborhood in practical ways. The group regularly hosts community cookouts, looks for opportunities to meet local needs, and partners with Neighborly to care for and bless those in the community.

young Professionals

Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:30pm

Young Professionals meets regularly for Bible study, community building events, and worship/prayer nights. Whether you’ve recently graduated, been in your place of work for a while, or are anywhere in between, we invite you to experience God’s mercy and wisdom as we walk through the book of Ecclesiastes together.

Missional FAMILIES

WEDNESDAYS, 5:30 - 7:15pm

Between nap times, bed times, picky eating, developmental differences, and much more, we recognize how hard it is to find regular community when you are the parent of young children. This group aims to keep the whole family unit together for mid-week fellowship by providing dinner, childcare, and time for Bible study and prayer for the parents. We meet for Bible study every other week, and on alternating weeks the men and women meet for prayer. We aim to become an extended family for one another in Tallahassee. Our mission is to get to know and serve the refugee families at the Jubilee market put on once a month by Neighborly.

Selah

Fridays, 6:00 - 8:00pm

The musical term “Selah” appears throughout the Psalms to mark interludes—places to pause and reflect while the instruments expound on the preceding words. Similarly, the Selah missional community seeks to create space for participants to slow down and drink deeply of God’s goodness through feasting, fellowship, Bible study, and extemporaneous worship and prayer. We will provide opportunities every Wednesday to serve the Levy Park community by operating the Safe Families food pantry, which will be located at Incarnation starting in October.

Parents of Teens (POTS)

WEdnesdays, 6:30 - 8:30pm

This new group is for Parents of Teens, from first-time middle school parents through almost empty nesters. We will share our struggles and successes, offering a listening ear and encouragement as we navigate this challenging season of life together. For maximum convenience, we will meet at the same time as the youth Bible study nights, starting with optional all-together dinner at 6:30pm at the church building, then walk to the Halls’ home at 7pm for a Bible study on Psalms, ending by 8:30pm with Compline. We will also support the youth in their monthly outreach to the kids of Springfield Apartments.

Sermons and Sandwiches

Sundays 12:00 - 1:30 PM

This new group will meet on Sunday after church. Grab some coffee at Incarnation’s regular after church coffee hour and then join us for lunch and a Bible study discussion on the passage preached on that morning. All are welcome, though this group is especially ideal for those who find it hard to make other mid-week evening gatherings. We’ll dive deeper into the sermon text, discuss how to apply it to our lives. Our mission will be to work together to help care for the building that Incarnation now owns.

Practicing the way

Mondays 6:30 - 7:45 PM

Our Practicing the Way group consists of women of all ages, and we study and practice various disciplines of our faith. This Fall, we will use resources from the Practicing the Way website which means we will watch a video by John Mark Comer that has designated stopping points for discussion, and the study will be supplemented by the suggested book called Invitation to Solitude and Silence: Experiencing God's Transforming Presence by Ruth Haley Barton. Come join us for laughter, support, and spiritual growth. Our group will once again facilitate the Angel Tree program for our mission.
